Default Obd Readiness Result???

well when i bought my 2001 lexus is300 the check engine light was on....i went to autozone and they told me it was the O2 sensors (all 4 of them). so i replaced them and reset the system (disconnected the battery). well now after 300 miles and 5 trips to get my car inspected....the system is still not ready yet. The part that keeps failing is the OBD Readiness Result....it says FAIL on the print out they give me. Im trying to figure how long it takes to reset the system or if anyone knows how to get the computer ready so i can get my car inspected. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It sounds to me like the o2 sensor you bought are not working correctly. The computer should go into ready state in about 2 minutes. Problem with newer vehicles is that the o2 sensors are multiple wires now. They're not like the single wire o2. Single wire you can use anything and it will work. With Lexus o2 sensors, you need to use OEM or better quality o2 sensors. I would take the car to a lexus speicalist, let them check the fluctuation rate of the o2 sensors. I'm willing to bet, the autozone o2s are not compatible.
